The
Sickness and Treachery of Today’s Supreme Court, continued 03/04/2024
|
Instead of the "Supreme Court of the United States," perhaps the SCOTUS should rename itself this: “Supremely Compromised Outfit Targeting the United States.” Targeting it from within. |
I believe Wednesday will be remembered as the Pearl Harbor and “day of infamy” delivered from within by the SCOTUS. This same Court has invited dark money into our political system; vetoed gun controls; refused to critique gerrymandering; ejected a 50-year precedent in order to invade women’s bodies, and tell them what they can and
cannot do with their bodies (citing a 17th century witch-burner in their document in doing so); and created chaos in the nation, including forcing ten-year-olds to flee their |
|
states to escape giving birth to their rapist’s illegitimate babies. It goes on and on. It coddles Justices who are in gilded beds, airplanes and yachts, and sucking up to far-right billionaires who are drowning them in gifts, while those billionaires have cases before the Court. The wife of one
of the Justices is on the team that cheered on on the insurrection of January 6, and whose communications with Mark Meadows proves her involvement. And that very Justice refuses to recuse himself. |
SCOTUS experts discuss the texting scandal between a Justice’s wife and the White House Chief of Staff. Video by MSNBC. | Will his wife be called as a
witness in that trial? Might that be a bit embarrassing? Does that have anything to do with that Justice voting to delay the trial until after the election? Clearly, the SCOTUS is on the ballot this November. Clearly, President |
Biden, it is time you talked OUT LOUD about expanding the Court to 13 members. Put THAT on the ballot this Fall. Let that be a major talking point for the election, and it will electrify a needed debate among the citizenry. It will also get voters out to vote. Fascism is on the ballot too. Hallmarks of any fascist regime are the following (ask Hitler): |
- Create an authoritarian cult of personality organized around a charismatic leader who dictates to everybody what to think and what to do;
- Refuse to accept the results of democratic elections that don’t go their way;
|

- Embrace—or
refuse to disavow—political violence as a mechanism for achieving political power;
- Corrupt, denounce, simply ignore the judicial system;
- Create its own version of laws that the leader invents to serve his or her purposes.
Evil is alive and well at the SCOTUS. Evil loves to invade places of power.

Sins of the Spirit, Blessings of the Flesh: Transforming Evil in Soul and Society
Visionary theologian and best-selling author Matthew Fox offers a new theology of evil
that fundamentally changes the traditional perception of good and evil and points the way to a more enlightened treatment of ourselves, one another, and all of nature. In comparing the Eastern tradition of the 7 chakras to the Western tradition of the 7 capital sins, Fox allows us to think creatively about our capacity for personal and institutional evil and what we can do about them. “A scholarly
masterpiece embodying a better vision and depth of perception far beyond the grasp of any one single science. A breath-taking analysis.” — Diarmuid O’Murchu, author of Quantum Theology: Spiritual Implications of the New Physics |
